Cathedral is a Brazilian rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1988, known for tackling the lyrics of his songs a positive and popular Christian message, coupled with themes of love and politics. It was the Christian rock band most notable in Brazil of the 90s, blunting the gospel setting by the other groups as Rebanhao, New Sound, Sow, Oficina G3, Sacred Fruit Rescue and Katsbarnea. However, a group decision to not confined to Christian music has made this left the label MK Music and closed a contract with Warner Music. However, part of his Christian audience remained loyal to the group, causing it to be nominated and winner of several years in Talent Trophy, a popular vote. Still, the band felt constangida to have won the award.
The history of the band has always been surrounded by success and controversy, highlighting a rumor of an interview given to the band of Joe program in which the group would have denied Jesus three times. Even though it is a lie, the news was considered true for much of the public and eventually undermine the whole group and make him miss much of the public and a solo contract with MK Music. The set also lost one of its members, Cezar who died in an automobile accident. In his engagement with Line Records in 2003, the band released in the year 2004 1 Response Wish achieved great renown in the Christian community as well as non-Christian. In over twenty years, the band managed to sell a considerable amount of disks and signed his name on the national rock.
