Suntalk was first created when composer and producer, Raanan Adler, moved from Israel to NYC armed with only his guitar and his passion to share his music. In early 2012, Raanan met singer/songwriter Demetrius Subbaiah, a native to New York City. Previously, Demetrius had attended the professional performing arts school in the city, and had studied opera. They first met in a loft in Tribeca where Raanan shared his track, the now single, "Darkness." The two immediately found that they had a common interest—to make compelling music that spoke with intent.Once Demetrius and Raanan finished writing the songs, the duo assembled the rest of the band with members who had the same vision. As a full band, they hit the studio and recorded their musical debut, the Darkness EP. The band could not be more excited to share their creation and for people to experience what is Suntalk.
As its title suggests, Suntalk’s Darkness EP is based off of darker moments of the band members lives. Dingus Music writes, “Darkness automatically makes me wish for the night to come swiftly, for the sun to set and for the illumination of dark to come forward.” With an affinity for melodic electronic music, and adoration for alternative rock, Darkness EP distills influences from The Killers, Joy Division, Interpol and The Cure.
