John Wayne once said, “Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.” These words mean everything to the talented singer and songwriter, Jess Moskaluke. She can still hear her father saying these words as she contemplated what the future might hold for her. Sadly, he passed away in 2006 after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis, but his memory and words of encouragement, live on in Jess’ music. At the age of 15, Jess began her journey into the world of music. Now, just five years later, her unique voice is being heard and she is well on her way to a promising music career.
In 2005, Jess was awarded the title of “Most Promising Entertainer” at a local talent competition, and went on to win 2nd place the following year. In 2007, she was crowned the champion once again at another local talent contest. From here, she placed in the Top 200 at the 2008 Canadian Idol competition. Unfortunately, she was unable to compete due to a severe case of laryngitis. This year, Jess is the reigning champion of the 2010 Painted Hand Idol and the 2010 620 CKRM Big Country Talent Search; the very same local competition that she entered 5 short years ago. In June of 2010, Jess made her first trip to Nashville. It was on this trip that she was approached by Artist Development Agency and Publishing Company, Identical Entertainment. Her rich, edgy vocal and stunning beauty immediately impressed the Identical team. They took no time in signing her to an artist development/publishing deal.
In addition to the excitement of her deal with Identical Entertainment, Jess partnered with “You Tube Phenom” and recently signed recording artist, Tyler Ward to release a cover song and her first single, “Amen Hallelujah.” She is also keeping busy in Canada, performing at popular music venues. Jess will continue writing and working on her new studio project in Nashville alongside the Identical team. Jess is nothing short of amazing and she is excited to share her gift and her story with the world.
