The Starlite Desperation met as infants a few months ago in day care. Says singer / guitarist Dante, “We were all in this golden playpen. Our parents had no money but lots of gold. We were rich/poor.” They had no intentions of starting a band. Says drummer Jeff Ehrenberg, “We didn’t even know what music was. We were just fooling around. It was a lark.” All of their records just came out. Their meteoric rise to the top has baffled the world, including the band. Says bassist Laena, “Now I’m noticing there are other bands. We’re just learning how to talk. Sometimes I just want to go back to the playpen.”
The trio released perhaps their most writheable disc ever, Take It Personally, in August of 2008 via Infrasonic Sound. A 12 song roller coaster through the repressed and murderous memories of gated beach community child actors, desert real estate vampire parents, entertainment biz drug czars and the redeeming twin power of Music and Love to heal a mess as bad as this, Take It Personally is Starlite Desperation’s fourth full-length.
