KAT team was founded in Katowice at the turn of 1979 and 1980, by guitarist Peter uczyk, which he joined drummer Ireneusz Loth. After a short time in the composition were Thomas Jagu bass, and Ryszard Pisarski git.

Fascination with Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath shaped style instrumental band.

In 1981, Kat performed at the first festival Silesian Rock. After the spontaneous concert, sitting in the audience Roman Kostrzewski expressed a desire to join the band as a vocalist. At the same festival, he meets guitarist Peter luczyk Wojciech Mrowiec which ultimately replaces Richard Pisarski.
