“ I have put my heart and soul into this record and the pursuit of my music career. For as long as I can remember music has been my passion. I feel so lucky to be one of those people who knows what they have been placed on this earth to do.”
The truth is, I really do feel like I’ve had no choice in the matter. Music has always been what makes me feel alive, so when I graduated high school and had to make the choice of what I wanted to do with my life, the decision was already made for me. Not that it’s been an easy road, but I’m not convinced any road worth walking down ever is.
I stepped into my first recording studio when I was 11 years old, to record a song for a school fundraiser, and I was hooked. I began writing songs, taught myself how to play guitar, and recorded my first demo CD at 13. This would remain the pattern for the next 8 years, as I continued to write, record, and hone my craft. I put my first band together at age 15 and began to play the bar circuit. Yes I know I was very underage, but for some reason very few people seemed to notice!
Now at 23, living downtown in the beautiful city of Vancouver, I guess I can call myself a professional musician. I play in more bands that I can count on one hand, I’ve worked with several writing partner including Paul Laine, Ian Prince, Joel Parks, Chin Ingeti, and Anet Ducharme writing for a number of different artists, and I’ve just completed the writing of my very own debut album! Writing has always been my therapy, ever since I discovered I could do it.:) I have composed a record I am proud and passionate about and can’t wait to share with you all.
When I’m not a home writing and playing my local house gigs, I’m probably on the road. Over the last few years I have spent a lot of time touring as the background vocalist and acoustic guitar player for Universal/604 recording artist Jessie Farrell. We’ve had the pleasure of touring with acts such as Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Sugarland, Emerson Drive, Aaron Pritchett, Johnny Reid, Faith Hill, Tim Mcgraw, and just got off the road from touring with Toby Keith! I’ve always loved the performance aspect of being a musician. Every time I get on stage I feel lucky that this is what I do for a living. There is nothing else in the world I would rather be doing.
So now you know a little bit more about me. Check out the blog for news updates and little stories about what I’m up to!
