20 year old Penalty/Sony Recording artist out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. I live and breathe for hip-hop. I do it for the love of it, nothing else.Hi-Rez is an American rapper from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With some special exceptions (oh, hey there Jay-Z) hip-hop has always been a young man’s game, but it seems like lately we’ve seen an even larger influx of rappers who will drop an album before they can legally drink. The latest emcee in rap’s youth movement to make some noise is Hi-Rez, a 17-year-old Fort Lauderdale emcee we first heard on Guy Harrison’s Had It All and is now making his solo Booth debut with the openly autobiographical All I Have. Intriguingly-named produced Cutlery carves up the beat here, flipping a Debra Laws Very Special sample that’s been used by the likes of Big Daddy Kane and Fabolous into an uptempo soul banger. On the mic Rez proves that he’s far more lyrical than the stereotype of his fellow Panhandle State rappers, vowing that while friends and enemies come and go, music will forever remain all he has. What Rez doesn’t have is a title and a release date for his upcoming album, but when that changes you know who you can turn to for all the details.
