The band’s hook-laden tunes are like a weight around the necks of punters in the pit, forcing them to move up and down. Trading off leads, Double Dragon’s dual guitars create an unholy mash-up of breakdowns and solos, used to devastating affect on songs like Beneath The City Of Churches. The band’s straight-up, undiluted heavy metal serves its purpose tonight, filling the role of both warm-up act and main support. " Tom Heresy, Rave Magazine, Brisbane
"Double Dragon are now one of the superior metal acts in the country, but with only two EPs behind their name, they were definitely due for a debut album. 'Devastator' is professional and hard-hitting, with head-crushing songs like 'The Possessed' and 'Choose Your Poison' confirming they have come a long way since their previous EP, 'Scars of Fire', which is what they have been touring off for the past couple of years. 'Devastator' is faster and far more creative, changing in and out of genres with singer Lee sounding somewhat like Opeth's Mikael 舓erfeldt on the soothing yet powerful track 'Black Sails of Armageddon'. Double Dragon have shown what they are capable with this release and that there is much more to come from them in the future" Matt, Tsunami Magazine, Qld
"Double Dragon are proof that a regular bunch of Aussie bogans can play some killer metal. Blending modern thrash stylings (think Pantera or Down) with a touch of Swedish influenced melodic death" Cabba, www.metalobsession.net, Perth
"As well-received as the groups before it were, it was headlining act, Double Dragon, that generated the most spirited behaviour from the crowd, a mosh starting up almost immediately among those at the front of the stage when the band launched into its set." James Brazel, dB Magazine, Adelaide
"Double Dragon have (so far) proved that they are able to evolve: a rare enough thing in a small town, with a hardcore set of fans. We all know that metal fans really dislike change. I think that their performance of Inflictor was the best they’ve done. For the last song of the evening, punters piled up on stage at Lee’s invitation, thus relieving him of the mike as they randomly took turns at vocal duties. Happily, the security didn’t seem to give a shit, and it all went down splendidly." Biodager, www.fasterlouder.com , Adelaide
We are Double Dragon. A heavy metal band from Adelaide, Australia. We've played, toured and headlined all over the country, been a part of a bunch of cool festivals (Adelaide Big Day Out 2007, Soundwave 2009, Against The Grain 2009 + more), and supported some of the biggest names in metal (Slayer, Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, The Haunted, Carcass, Mastodon, Dark Tranquillity, The Black Dahlia Murder + more). We're currently hard at work writing songs for the follow up album to our 2008 debut 'Devastator'. And we'll be supporting Chimaira on their national tour in January of next year. Prepare to be devastated fuckos!
