The childhood friends Mazen Ismail and Hadi Ka-koush have always been connected by their passion for music. Mazen was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and Hadi in Abu Dhabi, but grew up in Alexandria, Egypt.
They both moved with their families to Denmark, where Mazen and Hadi first met at the age of five and seven.
Growing up in homes filled with melodies from Abdel Halim Hafez, Oom- Kalthoum and Fairooz, to discover Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur and Outlandish in their new environment in Denmark, gave them a huge range of musical influences. From their early teen years they have rehearsed, performed and written music together. But it was in a play at a local theater were they both had leading parts, the band Lagix was formed.
In 2007 Lagix released their debut album “Versatile” which introduced them to the Danish music scene. In 2011-12 they released four Danish singles that quickly climbed to the top of the charts, and put them on the map as a band to watch.
Along their music career and to increase their artistic skills, they both decided to take further educations. This led to Mazen now having a bachelor in International Business Communication from The University of Southern Denmark, and Hadi earning an education as an actor from the prestigious Danish National School of Performing Arts.
In 2013 Lagix released the single "Love You", which consists a sample of the Egyptian legend Abdel Halim Haefz' song "Ahwak". Lagix are the first in the world alongside Jay-Z and Timbaland, to get such permission.
With new inspiration and their entire focus on their music career, Lagix is now ready to release their self-written, self-financed and self-titled international album "LAGIX".
