“Let’s make a MOVIE!” These are the words exclaimed by DJ Holiday as he speaks on the experience his fans will have while partying at an event of his or listening to his mixtapes. He describes both as monumental and most important memorable.
DJ Holiday was born Robert Avery in Germany and raised in the East Atlanta neighborhood of Decatur Ga. While pursuing his education at Southwest Dekalb High School and later Fort Valley State University, Holiday spent his spare time dj’n for various parties, often receiving little to no compensation to build his credibility. Determined to make a name for himself, Holiday formed the party promotion company Plush Blue Entertainment collectively with his business partners in 2006, and to this day Plush Blue is responsible for some of the hottest parties in Atlanta with notable celebrities, music industry tastemakers, and a plethora of Atlanta socialites.
As co-owner, host, & DJ for Plush Blue events, Holiday’s buzz grew quickly in the Atlanta area capturing the attention of rising hip hop mogul DJ Drama of the Aphilliates music group. Holiday joined the DJ crew shortly after meeting DJ Drama and started the mixtape series “Holiday Season” dropping his first classic mixtape collaboration EA Sports Center alongside rap star Gucci Mane in 2008. In 2009 DJ Holiday worked with Gorilla Zoe on his “FeedingTime” mixtape as a promotional tool for the artist’s sophomore release, Don’t Feed Da Animals,
