Growing up in Perth, Adam Brands love for music was heavily influenced by his father who was a singer and huge Elvis Presley fan. His mother on the other hand exposed him to Kris Kristofferson, Roy Orbison, and the Everly Brothers. At age 10, he picked up the drum sticks and went on to play percussion in the church band, where he was introduced to gospel and developed his lifelong love of rhythm. By 1997, Adam had packed up his Ute and travelled across the Nullabor to Sydney, where he released his first album, the self titled, Adam Brand which was certified Platinum within weeks. Adam has gone on to release nine blockbuster albums in Australia, with multiple Gold or Platinum awards to his name.
In September 2009, Adam signed a recording contract with Arista Records in Nashville and joined a stable of artists including Brooks & Dunn, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert. He went on to tour with Taylor Swift in the US at venues such as the famous Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Three years later he released There Will Be Love... another chart topping album which featured the biggest commercial hit in Australian Country that year, ‘There Will Love.’ The song was not only a country hit, but crossed over to capital city mainstream FM radio audiences, exposing Adam Brand’s music to a new market for the first time.
Brand’s television profile has also grown in the past couple of years, most notably winning Dancing With The Stars in 2009.
Adam Brand signed with ABC Music in August 2013 and releases his latest album My Acoustic Diary on November 8 through ABC Music/Universal Music Australia.
My Acoustic Diary features 15 carefully chosen songs spanning Brand’s career as a recording artist from 1996 through to now.
“I have decided to re-record some of these diary entries acoustically, the way they were first written... I’ve chosen songs that represent pivotal points in my life, and my growth as a songwriter and as an artist trying to find my own voice,” says Adam Brand.
