KaleX, known to his close friends and family as Keron Alexander, is a young artiste/producer who has come to “save the day…” in dancehall and music in Jamaica with his new style and fresh beats as his song ‘KaleX is here’ explicitly depicts. 17-year-old KaleX is currently a student at Wolmer’s High School for boys 6th form program finishing up his education before taking on music full time.
Origi...nally from Franklin Town he was exposed to a wide range of music at a tender age by his father who played his stereo loudly in the community on a daily basis.
In his early years at Wolmer’s, his love for music started to grow. KaleX started writing his own lyrics in 2nd form and was a part of a group of artistes who called themselves Melody Squad, whom recorded a song titled ‘Squeeze My Gun’ at Jahvinile Production Studio. This sparked an even greater interest and pushed him to continue developing his newfound talent. In 3rd and 4th form, he performed amongst his peers whom recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in music which lead to the creation of DeGreat Nation (DGN), which is the brand that he still fully endorses as his own.
KaleX is a gifted musical talent who has the ability to create music (beats and lyrics) that fit into the Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop and even R&B genres. His more familiar sound best is described as a crossover between Dancehall and Hip-Hop or an island pop as some describes it. In the summer of 2012 he, along with ERA Gang, released a riddim called “In Zone Riddim” which had some amount of success with artistes like Spoonaz, Runkus, D’East, Vrai Brilliance, Skyaz x Kryptonite, Dimez and Himself (KaleX) along with a few other artistes. Some of KaleX’s more popular songs are:
