Faux Fix is an independent alternative band from New Haven, CT that just played a show in Nashville last week. They describe themselves as “a collage of art-pop and hauntingly intimate vocals.” I think that’s definitely the best description, as those are the two most intricate characteristics of the band. ”
Faux Fix is the band project of hypnotic chanteuse Katie Chastain and indie film composer Nathan Johnson.”
They are currently touring throughout the eastern and central United States on their Living Room Tour supporting their recent album release of My Antagonist. The record dropped last month on February 12, 2012 and they’ve transformed the songs into an incredible live experience. Their sound in concert features ”lush textures, electronic samples, and even tuned wineglasses, thanks to multi-instrumentalist Jonny Rodgers.” Get to know them in their first video release:
It’s great to hear a band that puts so much effort into tone and creating a particular musical atmosphere for their audience. Who else uses tuned wineglasses to simulate a mini orchestra? The care that goes into creating their sound is beyond most because of their carefully crafted tone in support of Katie’s vocals.
