Green River Ordinance's straightforward, radio-minded pop/rock is shaped by frontman Josh Jenkins, bassist Geoff Ice, drummer Denton Hunker, and guitarists Josh Wilkerson and Jamey Ice. Formed in Ft. Worth, TX, the band recorded its first EP in a church basement and supported its release with a grassroots campaign, which led to shows alongside the likes of Collective Soul, Eisley, and Mutemath. The Beauty of Letting Go further expanded the teenagers' audience in 2005, and Green River Ordinance's similarity to such bands as the Fray and Matchbox Twenty helped them secure a contract with Virgin Records. Released in early 2009, Out of My Hands marked the band's first release for the major label.
