Opaque Nature are a Midlands (Leamington/ Coventry) based band. We play our own brand of new folk/ alternative music, full of energy and hope as well as some more mellowed out intimate music. It has been described by Pete Donaldson as "blissed out folky loveliness, like Kirsty Maccoll and Jeff Buckley all rolled into one."
Our influences include Bon Iver, Stars, Fleet Foxes, Mumford & sons and many more, though we sound not much like any of them! Although I'm sure we sit in a genre filled by very similar artists that have emerged in this modern folky scene, we've been described (and we like to think it's true!) as having "a flair and a quality that is unique, an innocence in lyrics reflected in simple, honest, home-grown music" (RAW- student radio review). We just love making our music, love writing it, love playing it, love it and hope that people can connect to the heart behind our music.
The band is made up of Mike (mainly acoustic and lead vocal), Matt (keys, vocals and lots of other tinkly things), Andy (drums and Percussion) & Mike (Bass).
We have had a few demo's out over the last year (Fire, The Sea-side & Mixing the colours) which have seen us as featured artist on the Unsigned Band Review, song of the week on Amazing Tunes/ Amazing Radio and firm favourites with other unsigned platforms.
Our first album which is out now (23nd February). We are really excited about it and would love to get the word out to a few more ears!
