Johannesburg born Connell Cruise began playing the piano at the age of 4 and has nurtured his incredible gift with years of training under prestigious names such as Luz Divina Rodriguez and Lorna Heher. Connell currently holds qualifications obtained through London’s Trinity School of Music as well as awards both national and international.
Experience comes in many forms and Connell cannot be said to be found lacking. His Theatrical Debut performance at 14 years of age found him under the artful direction of Nick Jourdaan and the rest of Connell’s teenage years were spent performing for audiences from Johannesburg to the Natal Playhouse in Durban in roles both diverse and challenging. Connell’s reputation as a versatile and powerful performer quickly developed largely due to show stoppers such as “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat” in Frank Loesser’s Guys and Dolls; and to parts like Fredrick in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance- a role that garnered Connell considerable acclaim from theatre critics across the country.
